Objectivity and Retrospection go well together. In retrospect, you can be objective. Because there is no courage required, and there is no need to battle fears. Past is over. Judgement has been passed, the unavoidable has happened. For good or for bad. And then you see, in retrospect...

I think this might be true when there is no pain associated with the memory...no remnants of emotion that well up when you think about the past. And what is objectivity really...? That's assuming there is an objective truth but I think reality is a truth subjective to each person. The world is always how we choose to see it, in retrospect or in the moment.
