I was midway through a book i was really really enjoying..left it in the flight...had to finish it any cost...which means i had to buy from landmark, crossword or strand (the book shops easily accessible and usually visit)
strand is the closest, and while its an awesome shop for browsing, its not got the most comprehensive selection...
Didn't know with my near future work schedule if i can make it to landmark, i rather avoid going there on weekdays, not any more traffic jam than what i am required to take...
called kingfisher - they don't have the book
meanwhile checked for an ecopy online, as expected...too rare...
while ebook hunting, read an awesome review...shit! have to have to read it...
one link led to another and i started browsed through the rupa publications website, checked prices, thought they were very reasonable...i hate trying amazon or barnes and noble cos when i look at the dollars, i think they are overpriced..and def. not for me
I thought i should atleast register with Rupa and add the book to the shopping cart and see what happens, when the billing options were displayed, i realised i didn't have to have a credit card...i could transfer frm my internet bank account, which i am comfortable doing...Ya! its done...
so my biggest barrier for internet shopping was the fact that i didn't know that i didn't need to have a credit card for buying/shopping....i could use my debit card or internet banking!!
So while the trigger was that i desperately needed the book (inner courtyard), the facilator was the fact there were many options available for payment...including using a debit card or an internet banking account!
Yeay and thus goes my story....
Now don't ask me about why i don't still have a credit card...just one of those things...never needed one, and all that
